The State Of The Columbia River Gorge in 1989. Glazed ceramic tile, epoxy grout. 45" x 80" x 3". 1989. This work contains examples of tile geometries which are not based on the square. It also contains some tiles which were originally drawn, scanned, or altered with the aid of an Apple Macintosh computer. Although difficult to see in the 35mm slide, there is a single jet-skier, dressed all in black, coming from the right toward three windsurfers on the Columbia River. This view also includes a Delft tile border surrounding a Northwest Indian petroglyph and a computer-altered image of a Greek amphora, originally by the painter Exekias, circa 540 BC. Weight: 120 lbs
