Twentieth
Century Delft Tiles: 1650 and 1987. Each ceramic tile is 6"
x 6". 1987. Tiles which "update" the Delft tile tradition. The ship shown
on the right is the ALYCONE, owned by the Cousteau Society, which visited
Portland in 1987. This ship uses two adjustable wing-like "turbo sails"
to catch the wind. The result, on average, is a fuel savings of one-third.
Weight: 50lbs.
